Build a Website Part 7: 5 Ways to Create a Buzz for Your New Website

 

Woot woot! You have built an incredible website that you absolutely love for your medical practice or small business. Take a deep breath and bask in that achievement.

Now it’s time to promote the heck out of it! But, how? That’s the problem we’re going to solve in this blog post.

There are plenty of ways you can pay money to promote your new website: Google Ads, Facebook Ads, Instagram Ads, or hiring an agency for SEO. But there are also plenty of ways to promote your site for free.

In this last post of our series on Building a Website You Love, we’re covering 5 ways to create a buzz for your new website.

1. Complete your Google My Business Listing

If you haven’t set up a listing on Google My Business, do that first. You’ll need to verify your business and its location. Once you have a verified business, it’s time to optimize your profile. With a new website recently published, this is the perfect time to take a look at Google My Business and refresh your profile.

Sign in and go to the admin panel to edit your business information. Fill in as many sections as you can. Include images and videos to represent your business if you have them. Include words that your clients might search to find you (keywords) in your descriptions. You can even write a “post” in your Google My Business listing to announce the launch of your new site.

Google is the most popular place for people to go when seeking out a new product or service. Do yourself a favor, and make sure your business listing represents you well.

2. Update Your Social Media Business Profiles

You put a lot of work into getting a clear marketing message and designing a high-converting website. Now you need to be sure that your social media profiles reflect the same type of message and style.

Your Instagram profile allows only 150 characters in your bio. Use them wisely. Say who you help, what you do, and a benefit of buying your products or services. If you have created a lead generator and a sales funnel, include a teaser to encourage people to download your free offer. Include a link to a landing page for that offer or create a Linktree to several different pages on your site.

Your Facebook business profile offers more flexibility than your Instagram page. Just like we said about the Google My Business profile, it’s best to complete as many sections as possible. Create a cover image that is consistent with the look of your new website. Use the call-to-action button that appears on your cover image to link to your site or to the landing page for your lead generator.

3. Start a Blog or Podcast

Content tells Google that your business is one to pay attention to. Blog posts and podcast episodes are also an excellent way to drive traffic to your site. Every time you post a new blog article, you can post it to social media and send it out to your email list. If you produce high-quality content, people will have a reason to visit your site again and again.

4. Look at SEO Options (Search Engine Optimization)

Starting a blog or podcast will boost your SEO, but that’s not the only way to improve your website’s ranking on search. Optimizing your site for SEO begins with knowing what keywords you want to rank for. Then you need to be sure those keywords appear on your web pages and in your meta-descriptions.

5. Show Up in Your Local Community

One of the most fabulous ways to create a buzz for your new website is to show up and talk with people! Get a booth at a local fair, attend a local business meetup, or sponsor a local event. When you show up in your community, people get excited about what you do. And when they get excited about you, the first place they go will be your website!
