Copy Quick Tip | Get Detailed
Jun 14, 2023
I read a lot of websites and sales pages in the health and wellness space, and at a point, they all start to sound the same. Most claim to help with stress, sleep, energy, or chronic disease.
The ones that stand out and stick in my mind are the ones that go into the details. Just take a look at the difference between this:
"Clients come to me because they're tired of feeling tired."
And this:
"Clients come to me because they're dragging out of bed after battling the snooze button. Caving to a fourth cup of coffee before noon. Surrendering to the couch while their gym card gathers dust. They're tired of feeling tired and ready for a change."
Details are what create emotion, personality, and connection. They're what make copy pop. But what if you can't think of any?
You can always get some inspo from a quick chat with ChatGPT. I sometimes use this when brainstorming how to describe pain points on a sales page. I might, for example, prompt ChatGPT like this:
"I'm writing a sales page for a group health program for perimenopausal women. They struggle with sleep, stress, energy, and period problems. Paint a picture with details of what it's like to struggle with these challenges."
✏️ Copy Quick Tip ✏️
Get into the details. For help, ask ChatGPT to "paint a picture of what it's like..."
I do need to add a caveat here.
If you use ChatGPT to generate details for your copy, it's best to take them as ideas—not as your final copy. Use those ideas to write with your own words and in a style that feels natural to you.
