Using AI Without Losing Your Intuitive Edge
Dec 29, 2024Ever feel torn between wanting to leverage AI and not wanting your content to lose its soul?
Me too.
Or at least I used to feel that way.
If you're a health and wellness practitioner on a mission to help people improve their health and become the highest versions of themselves, you want your content to reflect that energy.
But with that comes a lot of pressure.
Pressure to make every word sound authentic.
Pressure to create something brilliantly original.
Pressure to be vulnerable, personal, and relatable.
Pressure to ensure your content reflects your expertise and passion rather than some formulaic template.
Maybe you’ve wondered about using ChatGPT or other AI tools to lighten the load, but then you think...
“Will my content still feel like me?”
"What if it comes across as robotic or fake?”
“Am I cheating by relying on AI?”
“Does this take away the creative, intuitive part of my process?”
Ouch. I get it.
Content creation can feel like an impossible balancing act, especially when you’re trying to ensure every word truly reflects your values and voice.
I dragged my feet a looong time before allowing AI to really help me in any meaningful way.
I especially worried that outsourcing any part of my messaging to a tool like ChatGPT would disconnect me from my creative brilliance and intuitive edge.
But what I have found is that the exact opposite is true.
Will you humor me for a sec?
What if leveraging AI is actually the thing that will tap you in and allow you even deeper access to your creative ideas and intuitive hits?
If you're willing to consider that a possibility, please keep reading and play with me here.

The Science of Creativity & Intuition
You know when creative ideas hit.
It’s usually when you’re in the shower, out for a long run, or behind the wheel on a peaceful and familiar drive—when your mind is calm and open. That’s because your brain needs to be in a state of relaxation and receiving to allow those brilliant ideas to come in.
But content creation often creates the opposite state.
Sitting down to write social posts, emails, or sales pages can pull you into stress, perfectionism, and overthinking. You might find yourself stuck in analysis paralysis—agonizing over structure, word choice, or worrying about how others will judge your work.
This is not the state of mind where creativity flows.
Instead, creativity thrives when your brain is in what’s called the “default mode network”—a relaxed, daydream-like state where intuitive ideas naturally bubble up.
Think of it this way:
Content creation often forces your brain into “active mode”—task-oriented, detail-focused, and highly analytical. While this is great for editing or meeting deadlines, it’s not where your best ideas come from.
To access the creative flow state more consistently, it’s essential to remove the stressors that block it.
And this is exactly where ChatGPT or other AI tools can help.
How ChatGPT Can Support Creative Flow
ChatGPT and other AI tools handle the logistics so you can stay in the calm, centered, and open state of receiving. For example, AI can help to:
- Clear the clutter. Instead of starting with a blank page, you can let ChatGPT generate a rough outline or brainstorm ideas. This frees up mental space for you to focus on refining and expanding what resonates most.
- Relieve the pressure. By letting ChatGPT take care of the small stuff, like phrasing or organizing your ideas, you can concentrate on the heart of your message.
- Spark inspiration. Often, ChatGPT’s output triggers fresh ideas or reveals connections you hadn’t considered before.
By shifting the heavy lifting of structuring and brainstorming to AI, you create more space to stay present and connected to your inner compass.
Techniques to Stay Intuitive While Using AI
At the risk of repeating myself: leveraging AI does not mean giving up your creative brilliance or intuitive edge.
It’s about finding that sweet spot that enhances your process rather than replacing it.
Here are some specific techniques I use to stay tapped in while collaborating with ChatGPT and that I suggest you try out too:
Start with a Clear Mind
Before opening my computer to start a content project, I take a few minutes to quiet my mind. A short meditation, a few deep breaths, a shaking session, or a quick walk can help me shift into a calm, centered state. This way, I’m bringing clarity and openness to the process.
Jot Down Key Ideas First
Even when using ChatGPT, I like to sketch out the main points or themes I want to cover FIRST. This ensures that my message remains aligned with my vision, and it gives ChatGPT clear guidance to build from.
Draft a Stream of Consciousness
I’ll often type out a raw, unfiltered draft directly into the ChatGPT window. This helps me capture my intuitive thoughts without worrying about structure, grammar, or the exact right words.
Ask for Specific Outputs
Rather than asking ChatGPT to “write an email” or “write a sales page,” I’ll ask it to help with one step of the process at a time. I might start with crafting the outline and make sure that feels good before moving on to getting help with drafting each section.
Look for Gems
Once ChatGPT generates content, I don’t take it at face value. Instead, I comb through its output to find the gems—phrases or ideas that I would say (or wish I would’ve thought of myself!)—and build on them. This is basically like curating and amplifying the best parts.
Own Your Message
At the end of the day, you are the one calling all the shots. ChatGPT is a tool, not the final authority. Your unique voice and intuitive insights are what make your content stand out. Use AI as a collaborator, but trust your instincts to make the final decisions.
The way I teach leveraging AI in content creation is probably different from what you’ve seen elsewhere—or even how you’ve tried using it yourself. I want you to think of this process as “Copywriting Co-Creation.”
It’s not about choosing between automation and humanity.
It’s not a battle of robotic vs. personal, or formulaic vs. creative.
It’s about finding your sweet spot in content creation.
The place where the efficiency of AI works together with the soul of your unique voice and intuition. This is when content creation feels easier, more inspired, and totally aligned.
More Ways to Tap Into Creativity and Intuition
I hope it goes without saying that we do not NEED to use AI to open up our flow of creativity and intuition. We all somehow managed just fine before AI was ever a thing!
So I thought it might be helpful to revisit the ways I always used to recommend getting into the creative flow with a few strategies I swear by:
- Move Your Body. Physical movement, like running, yoga, or even a quick dance break, can help release stress and shift your mind into a more open, creative state. Movement doesn’t just calm your body—it often shakes loose new ideas and perspectives.
- Get Outside. Spending time in nature—whether it’s a walk in the park or simply stepping onto your porch—connects you to the present moment. The change in scenery and fresh air can spark creativity and allow your intuition to come forward.
- Journal. Writing down your thoughts in a stream-of-consciousness style can help you process ideas and uncover intuitive insights. Use journaling as a way to declutter your mind and open up space for creativity.
- Use Templates. Templates provide a framework that removes the stress of starting from scratch. With the structure already in place, you can focus your energy on personalizing the content and letting your unique voice shine through.
Or combine them ALL!
The world is not black and white, so let’s just stop thinking that it has to be “this or that.” Grab what you need from this toolkit when you need it.
My top 3 faves to combine together are moving my body, pulling up a template, and collaborating with ChatGPT—but yours might be different! Everyone’s mind works a little bit differently, so I encourage you to experiment with what resonates for you.
Wrapping it All Up
You still with me?
Amazing.
I hope you’re starting to see how ChatGPT does not have to be a compromise. It can actually be the thing to take you to the next level of your creativity, content creation, and (by extension) your practice success.
We’ve covered how ChatGPT can:
- Clear the clutter by taking care of logistics and organization.
- Relieve the pressure so you can focus on the heart of your message.
- Spark inspiration by providing new angles and ideas you might not have considered.
- Work together with other strategies that help you tap into your inner wisdom.
Here’s the bottom line:
It is entirely possible to leverage ChatGPT and other AI tools without losing your creative or intuitive edge.
You ready to give that idea a chance?
